Hi, i recently bought an msi laptop with100 i5-7300hQ, 8gb ram and an nvidia gtx 1050 graphics card. It should run drakensang easily, but the game lags, particularly when playing in group. When playing other games more demanding it runs very well. Can anyone help me?

    Hey there @Darkriders ,

Yes, it's absolutely more than enough to play Drakensang.
Could you please test your internet connection?

You can add a print screen or simply post your results.
    Cheers.

its not about internet speed. its that damn equipment effects and group effects. instance ranger deadlyblow kills give to everyone that dumb green circle plus farming full group it gets grazy. and on boss its gets even crazyer (pw boses).. i wont buy another pc to play this stupid cause i can play almost maxed graphics escape from tarkov game but not drakensang on high quality.. but i dont care anyway. any smart player should find better game than this to play

but i stoped playing this madness. for me laggs even solo.. devs just poke theyr nose and scrats coins on theyr pocket sacks.

The fans of the PC start working very hard and the FPS drops considerably for me in Mortis' courtroom, if I let lots of knights around me, with those red circles under them. Is not the internet or PC specs, just bad coding.

    Hey there @Darkriders ,

    Thank you for your answer.
If you are playing in American servers (e.g. Agathon), your results are not that good: your minimum value is too high and PDV results are also high.

Using the information at the right side, under the Min column is the lowest latency that was measured between your system and the server. On the PDV (Packet Delay Variation) column is the jitter, or the difference between the mean latency and the lowest latency that was measured. Ideally, the PDV value should be as low as possible. This will ensure issues such as stuttering while playing online games, stuttering in video teleconferencing or delayed voice transmission in VoIP communications doesn’t happen.

Please, could you please test your ping to game servers?

    Game servers ping
To test your ping to game servers, you can open your Command Prompt:
Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt
    Then enter your server address:
      • ping heredur.drakensang.com
      • ping grimmag.drakensang.com
      • ping werian.drakensang.com
      • ping agathon.drakensang.com
      • ping tegan.drakensang.com
      • ping balor.drakensang.com

Let us know the results. Then we can have a final conclusion.
    Cheers.

@Darkriders Your FPS problem is due VIdeoCard settings (probably) because laptops with dual cards as yours (CPU + GTX1050 (or whatever)) uses as default videocard this in CPU which is with low power consumption. Please check your power settings and find how to switch to "external" GTX1050 VC. In some laptops there is option to assign which video card to run with particular program. Some games triggers this automatically but not DSO. It is mainly java and this is reason to not auto-switch to high performance GPU.

    Hey there @Darkriders ,

    Well, those values are normal.
Have you tried to follow @stacker99 tip? Let us know if that helped or not :)

Thank you a lot for sharing that, @stacker99 ;) Always learning. Actually I had the same problem long long time ago.
    Cheers.

@Sunlight Long time ago I was moderator and support for Bulgarian forum and players except that I'm a computer specialist and my advice is due my practice with "gamers" laptops with dual graphics.

Yes @stacker99 i am aware that my laptop has 2 gpus, intel gpu and the nvidia gpu. I went to the nvidia control panel and changed the default video card to the nvidia gtx 1050. But it was lagging anyways and then i changed some settings like power management but when i play with group it always drops fps...

    Hi Darkriders,

Can you right-click on the DSO shortcut and go to the Compatibility tab? Let’s see what “Disable display scaling on high DPI settings” is set to.

I have that option ticked @Nalros, i was trying to see if the game would run smoothly, but failed.

    Hey there @Darkriders ,

We've applied all the possibilities for now.
I assume that this procedure won't help too?! I also assume that you have your drivers updated. For now, please, open a ticket to your support and provide them your logfiles and dump files. They will forward it to the development team and your account will be analysed. Probably they will be able to detect what's going. Let's hope so.

Is the problem happening even when you play via Internet Explorer?

    Cheers.

You don't need to mess with power management, only need to add the game itself to run with GTX1050, not with CPU VGA. Now I don't have such a laptop here to make some screens but in the weekend I will have one in hand and will try to make a tutorial. Laptops aren't good for gaming IMHO. Except really gaming laptops like ASUS ROG series because if the VGA is OK - the CPU and HDD lack of performance. I will do my best to make some tutorial with these dual graphics laptops like yours.
The problem with DSO is that it isn't recognised by the NVidia drivers as 3D game and the driver don't run with it.

You should always disable the onboard/onchip graphic cards (in BIOS) when you are having a dedicated graphic card on your PC ... that is the first and main rule.

Well, it doesn't work in firefox or chrome. I only started IE once, to download firefox.

@trakilaki Traki, my respect mate but I don't know laptop with such a function with dual VGA. Almost all of them have function to disable switchable graphics but one that will work is only CPU VGA. Now I have one Lenovo here and there is only this option available. I will check with ASUS ROG is this possible. The reason for that is "long battery life" when you don't need 3D accelerator running.
Excuse me for my bad english, it isn't my native language and I never learned it in school - only by Internet and movies :)
