Suggestion Customise weapons/items' looks

Long long ago, he-who-must-not-be-named said something about a feature that would allow to transform visually one item into another. Maybe something similar to what exists in EDIT - you can transform your sword into any other sword that you found during farming, without changing any of its stats. Greg indeed mentioned it so it seems that it was at least discussed as a possibility in the past.

It's like taking the ~essence of the item and crafting it into another without losing any of its properties (but without the traditional random nonescence). That would've been fun - carrying the Predator but actually packing the q7 set and no one could tell. A lot of surprising turns on the arena too!

Those new weapon effects are cool and all but there are so many good looking uniques that nobody ever uses that can have another go in the game in a sense. And it's very boring to see the same stuff on players everywhere, you can literally not distinguish yourself from other party members sometimes.

 

Yes please! I have been hoarding items with appearances from two years ago that I want to use. I would love if a transmogrify item feature was added.

 

Transmogrification, yeah. No new info about it.

 

I am in favour, but didn't they say they shelved the feature?

 

I think transmogrification might never come considering that the new who-in-the-world-even-suggested-it weapon effects feature might get screwed because of it.

 

Maybe this is weapons efects is the transmogrification for them so mission acomplished thread cosed .

 

The sad thing is that this would be a pretty fair guess... case in which they mixed stuff up big time.
Or just did something they seem to be liking lately... can't fix/do something, so they deliver something else (scrap + redo).
