Tips on Twinking!

I currently have a level 23 SW and I am just fed up of playing against players with lvl 50 items in PvP, so I've decided to go all in and create a twink myself. I know I may sound crazy, but when I have to deal with players dealing 10k+ damage at this lvl, it's just impossible to play and I really don't want to quit as I like DSO and have been a fan for years.

So, I see a lot of other twinks are using PW items (I'm guessing they have access to it as they have other lvl 50+ characters); unfortunately, I don't have that advantage so I wanted to ask for some advice:

1. What item sets should I look for (Unique and others)?

2. At my current lvl (23), how much should I upgrade good items I find (e.g. up to lvl 30? 40?)

3. Is the Keen/Roshan/Yachak/"Dwarf equivalent" set worth farming for anymore?

4. What kind of stats should I be looking for in terms of damage/critical/armor etc.

5. Where's the best place to farm for good items to upgrade (lvls 10-30)?

6. Finally, is it worth twinking right now? By that I mean, will the devs do something about PvP at low lvls e.g. limiting the use of high lvl items?

About point 6, I think it isn't worth to start/keep twinking anymore. Hopefully all those bullies will leave the game (or level up) soon.

 

What are you even talking about? There is no such thing as twinking anymore. No matter how big the level difference is you will still get your exp normally, so forget it, there is no twinking. All you see there in the arena are some old time losers, that wont level up because they dont have the balls to play the game as it is supposed to be

 

Lol, you obviously have not started a new toon lately. Twinking is alive and well on all servers (well, actually I do not know about Werian or Balor since I have no toons on those.) The actions the devs have taken to date do not affect P2W or patience players who want to twink. As well as the outright cheaters.

New twinks are being built as we speak. If it were not for the forums rules I would post some of their IGNs as proof.

My advise is don't do it. Why would you? Besides the fact they is no real reason to pvp at your level in this game the end result is that you would just be taking out your frustrations on other legit players and not the twinks.

But also I will admit that I doubt you're intentions. If you have been playing this game for years as you state then the answers to your questions should be obvious. So I am led to the conclusion that you are just another newbie twink that has reached a level where you have hit a wall and want to know the rest of the secrets of the dark side to keep going.

I have not started a new toon lately? So you think, but the truth is i have more than 1 new toons and i also know every single thing about the changes to twinking. What you say has nothing to do with the real twinking that the devs were letting those players do. Twinking was enabling the players to have their char sit on a specific level, without leveling up, farming GLYPHS, and items with gold lines even on low levels as they were allowing them to farm high modes even on low levels.

With the recent changes, any farm means EXP, so no more staying all their life on the same level.That also means no more farming for gold lines perpetually, as if they try that, they will just level up. The only thing they can do is stay at the same level doing nothing and have another big character farming andermants for them, in order to buy gems and thats all. The twinks can do nothing anymore except that because anything else related to the old twinking system was requiring farming and now farming means EXP. So,a new player that wants to build a twink, if he does so, first and foremost he will never reach those old twinks because they will have tons of glyphs and gold lined items plus the gems.
What you are suggesting as the existing form of twink is just a rotten to the core twink-like thing, but its not a twink whatsoever and it will never compete with the old twinks. End of story,simple as that. If you have anything new that you know about twinking in 2018 that me and many others dont know, feel free to share.

P.S: cheaters are everywhere, so yeah they could maybe cheat and not take exp but because we dont know that and we also should not include cheaters in this thread, we are talking about normal players. As for those P2W new twinks, with the changes to twinking, they will have to spend thousand and thousands of money to buy not only gems, but Glyphs that are super expensive as they cannot farm them anymore, let alone they wont have the chance to farm for gold lines, so good luck payers ahahahah

 

I think you are misunderstanding what I said at the start. When i said that I had been "a fan of DSO for years", I didn't mean that I've been playing the game for years. Basically, I started playing in 2015 and then stopped (as I had other non-gaming things to attend to). But I still followed the game news/updates on the Facebook page as well as on the Wiki. So while I may not have played that much, I certainly have more knowledge than a beginner, but I'm no expert. Recently, I decided to start afresh and create a new character (the one I described above). However, I soon discovered what a mess PvP was for the low-levels, so I figured, why not create a new toon with very high lvl items like many of these twinks. This was primarily because I can't be bothered to have to wait months and months to get to lvl 50 just so I could start PvP'ing, so that's why I'm asking what I'm asking. So, you're only correct to a small extent when you say I'm a newbie.

As for what thouvou000 noted, maybe I'm misunderstanding the definition of a twink? I thought they were solely low-level players with OP/max upgraded equipment.

 

Twinks are very boring to play with, and should be forced into their own arenas where they would play each other.

 

The easiest way to be competitive with a low level toon in pvp (and pve) is to advance them slowly, doing your dailies and giving them time to gain enough wisdom levels (and pvp levels) to be competitive in a fight. I personally prefer to use greens, as they are cheaper to glyph up, and I'm going to outgrow them sooner or later. That said-- if a true twink or a cheater (or just a better player) meets me in pvp, they get to hand my tush to me. Shrugs~ I know I'm playing fairly, and it just doesn't bother me much if I lose. I try to get a hit in (which gives me points), and other than that I just keep playing. I came here to play the game-- not sit on a toon trying everything possible to NOT level up. I've had decent people give me good advice, and their advice has worked for me, so I pass it on. Twinking sounds like an incredibly boring way to try to win at pvp.

 

Look if you want to play pvp with a low lvl char then do it. You can still level up when you had enough of low level pvp because when you pay for glyhpes and especially gems you can still use them on 55..
