    Hello everybody!

I stopped playing last Januari, but now started to play again.
I really enjoy the game again and I understand the most chances after some hours of playing, but the 1 thing I don't get is how those item tiers work for "normal" items.

Could anyone explain to me how it works or send me to the/a explanation (which I didn't found)?

    Tnx!

It's pretty simple. The higher the item's tier, the higher their base stats values can be. Tho', you can get items of higher tier with base values lower than on a lower tier item.
Here's a crafting example when no tier base stats get inherited into a tier 1 item:

Those are the exact same base values, but because the result is a tier 1, and since the values were inherited from a no-tier item, they scale to tier 1, their values being slightly increased.

The point is... that higher tier items "usually" mean higher base values (enchantments are unaffected by tiers BTW).

Well, that's pretty simple indeed. Tnx for answering!
Can I upgrade my items to higher tiers or are they just how I craft/find them?

No you can't do that for normal items. But you will be able to do that for unique items eligible for it when they'll introduce the augment cores or whatever they call them.

Yes you can upgrade items to higher tier.
Even if they are not unique items ... you can do that with standard crafting at workbench :p

I have/had 3 lvl 50 characters, so I know the basics I guess (not meant offensive). I know you can upgrade uniques by using 4 of the same uniques at the workbench.
But that were only 3 tiers, as far as I know now you have 5 with those new game-modes...
