Would it be possible to make it so that we can change that button that makes the character stand still and attack? Trying to hold the shift button while using the number and tab buttons is akward at best. personally I would prefr the ` key.

People use it all the time because they have attacks on their mouse button. It is a key strategy for the ranged class, particularly the RAs and SWs (SMs usually like their turrets more). This is another one of those instances where you are talking about the game catering to your play style or tactics. Consider the rest of the players who might be more advanced than you are and could use something like this. Even a DK can use it in the right circumstances. There are times with the basic attack that you'd move closer to an enemy before actually attacking even though you are close enough to hit them. There is one boss with a particular "feature" (not bug, since I've reported it multiple times to support and the Devs haven't fixed it) where this is particularly useful and it allows a DK to avoid some serious damage while tanking, but the tactic couldn't be used as easily without the ability to sit still. You think that I should just put it on my number bar, but then what would I put on my mouse button that would only be usable on a swing? Basically, I'd lose a skill or I'd make a different one really inconvenient. Honestly, your posts are beyond narrow minded.

  3. @_Baragain_ Just because someone posts without fully thinking through the implications and ramifications of their suggestion, this does not give you the right to call them narrow-minded. I think you'll find that the term "noob" or "ignorant" is more suited.

actually I never use the stand still button because the shift button does not lie comfortable in my hand position when playing. I would be very happy with a stand still button where I chose which key will have this function.

Use a programmable keyboard and remap the shift button to a comfortable location.

I personally use a logitech g13 gameboard which is essentially a programmable half keyboard (my main mouse is a logitech g700s). I reprogrammed one of the thumb buttons near the joystick to be the shift key. This was insanely effective back in my level 45 pvp days, but did have the effect of drastically shortening my keyboard lifespan.

Razer has a pair of similar alternatives (orbweaver and tartarus are the model names) and some regular keyboards and even gaming laptop keyboards have this remapping feature.

This sort of setup is really the only way to go if you are a pc gamer. I have never found a game that the default key assignments (even the remapping possible with the game) are optimal for my personal motor skills. Plus there is the added benefit of being able to save different configurations on the off chance that you may wish to play another game other than DSO ;)

My setup is a bit on expensive side. Desktop has a G910 keyboard and my laptop is a gaming unit that has similar features built into the keyboard. I use a G502 mouse on both (which is actually mid-range price wise.)

But if your budget is limited and you don't mind shopping around a bit you can get both a programmable gameboard (G13 or like) and a gaming mouse for less than the average student spends on pizza and beer per month :D

    Luck be with ye,

If the game let me costumize the buttons, I can choose a more comfortable location and in this case I don't need to buy a new keyboard.

A lot of keys we can already costumize, but with the stand still feature we can't, I don't know why and I can't find a reason for it. It would be a new dimension of the game for me when I can costumize the stand still feature.
