Hello, I'm new to this game (about 4 months, PVE) and I want to know a little basic knowledge about this game, so here I am with my questions:
    1. say, I have a lv 25 char and grouped with lv 35 char and participating in an event, will the monsters leveled with the lv 35 or mine (lv25)? And will the amount of monsters increased? can someone explain to me the system?
    2. I saw so many lv 20 chars with costume/armor from a certain events like full/new moon. how can they participating in event repeatedly without gaining some exp or leveled up? They need to farms some silver essence before the event, and of course they can't finish and get the rewards just by one run, right? My char leveled up 2 or 3 lvs (32/33 to 35) when I participated in an event.
    3. What is the 'wisest' way to spent andermants for a f2p like me? I'm thinking about gems or maybe costume~
    4. Does the CV calculation is reliable to see my char's overall strength or items value? I'm not really sure, sometimes I finds good item with better enchantments (read: fits my needs) but with smaller CV.
    5. Sometimes I'm thinking about buying premium membership but does that worth the price? I mean, for PVE player like me o_O
    6. Are there any sites where I can get information about dungeon including monster stats (fodders/mini bosses/bosses' dmg, def, resistance etc)?
    7. last but not least :D , what do I do with my loots, melt or sell them?
Whoa, I ask too much, sorry
and pardon my english, it's not my mother language. Hope you wouldn't get any headache because of my lack of grammar :p

    thanks ;)

    Hello,

    1. The highest level player of the group will determine the level of the mobs in the event map/pw map, if more player go in more health the monsters will have, I'm not sure if they damage more though.
    2. If you have a player with at least 5 level above your level you won't get any exp, the low level characters don't do quest, just farm with a higher player (exp blocker)
    3. I'd recommend you to save your andermants, maybe buy a few inventory space, (10800 ander of 3 row instead of 4 thousand / row I guess), when you get to level 50 you'll know what kind of gems you need so you only need to buy them then (when they are on sale ofc)
    4. As an old player I see no point in CV just a "EDIT measurement". You better check your items' enchantment instead of their CV, like: a 2h weapon gives more CV than a 1H and an off hand but it is not 100% better
    5. I think for leveling premium is great advantage, only the normal one not the deluxe, you get free respawn in dungeons, 28 inventory space, bonus exp, extra mystic cubes with chance of great stuff. The deluxe one is for hardcore players I guess, I would only buy 1 month because you never know what happens next month :D
    6. I don't know about that kind of sites but the wikia is great (you can find the link if you open the game in browser), it has everything, event details, unique items etc
    7. If you need gold, you sell them, if you need glyphs you melt them, I'd melt legendaries at your level, on higher level (40+) extraordinaries too, the improved and magic ones are just simply not worth it. You need gold for more things, cloaks, jesters, crafting.

I got a headache of your grammar though :D (just kidding)

I hope I could help you

    1. The monsters' level is determined by the highest level in the group. Then, while numbers aren't increased per group members, the mobs' toughness is - but this should be balanced with each member, which kinda means that if you go with someone (much) higher, you won't be able to pull your weight.

    2. XP block... the thing twinks love the most, i.e. playing with people over 5 level above yours => you get no XP.

    3. Wisest way to spend Ander for the F2P is inventory expansions first, and gems second.

    4. Not really... feel free to ignore it.

    5. Your money, your choice xD. It does help (free respawns, more XP, and other kinds of additions you can check in-game in the top-right corner, hovering over the crown). Deluxe Premium is better, but more expensive. Again, you know best how much, if any, cash you can dump into the game (just think it over twice if it's worth it before you do any transaction with real money).

    6. Of course. Best one is the DSO Wiki (there is also a button that links to it when you login on the browser homepage).

    7. Melting will get you Glyphs of Power, which can be used to upgrade items. I'd say you don't really need to do much upgrading until high levels, because until then the best way is to use whatever you drop for as long as you can go on (i.e. you don't have to power-farm for new gear every level). However, you can start melting and gather them up for when you'll be needing them. And now that you can transfer them without destroying the upgraded item, you can actually use them (it will cost you gold to remove without melting the upgraded item). Gold is needed too... I've heard a lot of people say the sell greens and melt all higher-rarity items. You can sell greens & blue and melt others if they're bad... depends if you are after gold at a certain time. Also... it would be advisable to keep a tiny stash for expenses such as blacksmith repairs, gem combinations and whatnot.

BONUS: since I mentioned gems, you might not know the best way to combine them, which is - don't rush to combine, because you lose value (e.g. three +1 damage rubies will turn into a +2). It is advisable to first fill your gem slots from the items you have equipped and only upgrade one stone in your inventory if you have two identical ones left-over. That way, you will only improve the ones in your gear. For gem storage once you're full, you can use various items you find with 4 slots (most people use uniques they got and don't use, or white/green drops that have 4 slots, which is the default maximum you can get on a given item).

Hope I helped. No worries, asking questions is not a problem :D. Also, your English is OK. We've all seen waay worse, haha xD.

Last, but not least, prepare your patience and nerves! You will need them xD. Good luck!

Everything is good except on 7 what the others said.
I say melt everything except green items.
    Sell green items for gold.

Hmm, then maybe solo is the best option for me.... o_O

Okay, inventory it is. Thanks guys.
Hmm, maybe I will buy premium, deluxe is just too much for me. Well, maybe I can buy deluxe but then stop eating for the next 2-3 months lol

For my other questions, your answers are very helpful, thanks. Maybe I will choose the best classes for me first, and then 'go premium' and hopefully worth the money. I really liked the animated effect of Mystic Cubes and legendaries when they're dropped (based on my 3 days premium trial experience) :D

I'm still torn between ranger or DK (SW has great damage, but too fragile in PVE/mobs I think). I will do my research between those classes first in this forum and that DSO wiki you guys told me and maybe start over.
Thanks for your answers guys, I really appreciate it ;)
    That's all....
    for now. :p

well you can start with both as you would need a second character anyways for the wisdom mentor bonus
incase you are wondering what wisdom is , its just like exp but it is obtained as a drop from worthy mobs(-+5 levels) , shabby chests or daily quest

what mentor bonus does is it give 3 times the wisdom for the character with lower wisdom than the one which has the highest. This is a trick used to level up wisdom 3 times faster.

    Edit:

Also 1 thing that's not mentioned about premium is the free reshuffle of daily quests(which normally cost 80 of anders)

Regarding the comment above, same works for Fame for the PvP tree, just so you know (yeah, saw you said you prefer PvE, but still :)).
If you can solo effectively, it's good. What I was saying is that if you need/want to group, better go with people around your level.

My suggestion for events go with a group of all the same level. On boss zones everyone pitch in with stones. This will help you kill the boss faster.

yeah that's really cool. 80 anders per shuffle is too much for me lol especially when you need best reward with less effort~
About mentor, yeah really helpful, 750 wisdom per day just from daily quest :p

I'd like to have a cool PvP title too, but it was really hard. I tried at lv 15-25 but the opponents are very tough (like, lv 15 legionnaire, centurion, wow) wonder how much money they spent for those char  and when I reached lv 30, it became impossible just to lay a single clean hit to them so I gave up on PvP lol. Any tips on PvP without spending too much money, maybe? :D

Noted, thanks! The problem was when my lv 35 ranger tried to help lv 27 SW (same guild as me and he asked me for help) and we went duet on event and then the monsters (which I can kill them pretty easy when I went solo) became more tough (and dealt more damages IIRC). I felt bad to the SW guy, ofc he died :(

P.S. Sorry if I talks too much, it's fun to discuss about this game because I can't chat/talk too much with another player in game (language difference) hehe

What you encounter are called 'Twinks' , low level character who exp block and grind glyphs to level up their gears way higher than their character level eg a lvl 10 character can use a lvl 10 items gyphed up to like lvl 39 or so.And yes, spend a lot of cash too on gems.

Welcome to the forums :D , thats what these things are made for ;)

I googled about that just now. I don't really get it, is it legal? I mean, does that violated any game rules or not? Like, I don't know, exploiting system or whatsoever maybe? Just asking, lil bit intrigued here haha
and, the twinks are looking for higher level player just to help them farming? How convenient o_O if I could get any higher level player to help me that would be great :D but they're too busy PvPing or doing some high level stuff lol
Thank you! It's nice when you can discuss or make a convo with people around the world! :)

It is legal to be xp blocked by someone else but if you are multiboxing( using a second character of your some other account) then it becomes illegal and is called pushing as per the T&C you agreed to while signing up for the game

Yes, and generally, twinking is frowned upon... getting lv10s asking to join your lv50 PW groups is irritating, for the same reason already mentioned: they can't be an effective group member, they just want others to do the work for them and they just loot. Then, they use what they got to upgrade their items and, with an unfair advantage, beat most low-levels in PvP... maybe because they can't win in normal conditions, or they just are sore losers. In order to PvP, maybe wait for lv50, but keep in mind that other PvP modes call for different skills and setups (1v1s are plain, simple duels, 3v3 is again killing, but in teams, while 5v5 - Capture the Flag and 6v6 - Storm the Fortress have special objectives). And yes, it's hard unless you have a well-built character - but this will be your concern only after you hit the level cap.

As for events, that example of yours is perfect proof for the grouping thing. While you could do the map alone, by having him the monsters got tougher causing you to not be able to do it the same way anymore, most likely because he couldn't contribute enough to compensate the extra HP and damage of the monsters. In a perfect group, everyone would be able to contribute in their class' way (of course, this doesn't always happen). Anyway, I'd say that you shouldn't focus on event-items too much, because you will have to replace them later.

Keep to your quests and Wisdom hunting until you pass that phase and enter the endgame. Then, you will have to consider lots of stuff, from how to build up your character, to events, glyphs, Parallel Worlds, etc. and optimize your character. Once again, bear this in mind: the road is long and hard, so be prepared and don't give up ;).

@ekant1992 Ok i got it! Thanks for answering my questions, kind stranger :D

I saw a lv 15 SM, centurion just now. What the...
So, basically there's no option for PvPing from low level without twinking for f2p? :(

I guess I need to reach the level cap first, then. But can I survive with no, or maybe a little, Honor Points?
From what I read from this forum, lv 50 is all about farming and grinding, to improve our char. Well, I'm lv 41 Ranger right now, but not satisfied enough with my overall strength. Maybe I'll start over and get mentor bonus from that char. I don't know. And I'm frustated with the cloak quest (1000gold)!! I just spent about 500-600g to craft legendaries, feels like I wasted my golds.
Is there any high level f2p here? Can they survive without spending any cash? It seems nearly impossible
I really like this game; low spec, nice graphic, some good features and stuff. And now that I have some free time, I just want to play this game as long as possible. And maybe spend some of my money later, if I feel this game is really worth to pay~

Again, sorry for my english :p

There are some, however it requires a ton of patience.

That is why I came to this game. The visual design team is fantastic in my opinion, it's just a shame the game developers are not.

A few thoughtful tweaks could make DSO an incredible game, engaging and fun for most.

As far as the twink things goes, DSO encourages it, and those who do it claim it is fun and that it doesn't hurt anyone. Meanwhile newer players get frustrated and most of the time quit. So there you go.

A lv15 SM Centurion is nothing... try lv20 Knight of the Order... those are the real twinks. PvP does not really affect PvE (nor do the PvP talents work in PvE), so there's no question about being able to "survive" without Honor Points in PvE - they are distinct and PvE is totally non-dependent on your PvP performance, i.e. you can play PvE without being into PvP without any setbacks (except cool-looking ranks and those specific mounts, but those are rather trophies, no actual gameplay effect).

Crafting mostly s*cks, even with the new 2.0 and is, again, a practice most-worth it at endgame when you know what kinds of items you want to craft, what enchantments you need for your build, and so on (even if you get a good piece now, you will later need to replace it as it becomes obsolete, while a lv50 really good item won't be so short-lived)... so, yeah, you basically wasted the gold, but if you got something you can use, at least there's that. The 1k gold cloak is easy now - you don't want to know how hard it was to farm its quest before, when the requirements were different and drop-rates way worse... now, the 30 cloths are the hardest to get, but not nearly as bad as it was before the change to it. Once you got all the ingredients, check your gold... if you haven't got 1k yet, start selling every drop for a little while, and you'll soon get it, after which you can return to your normal way of managing loot.

There are lost of cap-level F2Ps here, haha. Myself included. I'm not OP, but I'm getting there and improving slowly, but steadily. You can most definitely get by in DSO without paying money... but you have to have patience, nerves of steel and dedication :D. A heavy payer can get OP a lot faster, which kinda throws non-payers off, I know, but try not to pay attention to that.

And stop apologizing for your English... really, it's alright :p.

Well I myself am a free to play player which i only got premium for 2 months or 3. If you can get it now as you are 41 level it will help you a lot growing up and having the free respawns for saving andermant. Save all the cubes you get from your farming and open them when you reach level 50. A free to play player in this game has a lot of work to do to reach somewhere so you have to farm a lot. Find a guild and make friends so they can help you run through the pw's to start your item diversity adventure and picking the best you get for your build. Save your andermant for gem sales and open some inventory so you can farm for gold and GOPs. Sell green items at level 50 and melt the others and dont use the crafting bench because you will melt those items once you get at 50 you would find better ones and the amount of gliphs to make the 41 to 55 is insane. The rest is farm farm farm. Its like a part time job but you dont get payment.

Currently DK and the Steam Mechanicus (Dwarf) is the most overpowered character in pvp and pve too, dwarves have the damage, dk is the tank, you can build a dwarf easily as it only needs damage and a little attack speed. DK need a little bit more money and time to be great and to master it. You need to create 2 character and do the daily quests on both to have your wisdom level up 3 times faster.

I am a free to play player, okay, not really. I got 2 months of premium and like 10 euro in the character. Max. My main is a spellweaver with almost 4 year (over 3000 played hours I guess), and it is pretty cool for me, both in pve and pvp, but this new pvp kinda sucks.
If you are on grimmag you can pm me (Oddzy) - I won't be the one who helps you in maps and stuff but I always welcome someone who is intelligent and able to speak etc :D

For the low level pvp: a lot of work, maybe more money and even more friend to have your exp blocked, but they are nothing special, they enjoy killing others on their level but the 90% of low level pvp characters will just become an avarage character as they reach level 50.

For spending money on the game again, only with measure, there is often stability problems which can be really bad for us, players and you will always think twice when spending money on the game.

Crafting is only for lvl 50 and low level pvp characters so save your gold, the new quest for the Cloak Of Power is much easier than it was used to. 1000 gold is easy to get on lvl 50 and you get like 500 on your way up from lvl 40 to 50.

Your English is fine, don't worry :D

Word. 'Lucky' for me there's another option, PvE. I mean, this game has decent free features, and again, cool graphic and low spec which is great for 3rd world gamer like me lol so it would be a waste if I just give up because PvP/twinks, right :D

    Wow. Just, wow.
I mean, if I want to try PvP again after I reached lv 50 with no Honor Point can I get a chance against another lv 50 with high PvP ranks. Just wondering...

Duly noted, thanks! And kudos for your last sentence lol

I like DK and ranger for some reasons: their visualization (cool and manly looks), well balanced build (attack and defense) etc. That's why I still can't decide lol.
As for dwarf, I don't really like it, or maybe even hate them. IMO, dwarf is too OP because it's too easy and requires (almost) no skill to play in either PvP/PvE. Turret, and then run dodge run dodge, something like that. No offense, just my opinion :)

Wow, a veteran eh? And I don't really get it when you say 'new pvp'. What's new?
I'm currently playing in Tegan just because it has the lowest amount of players (I'm playing in medium spec laptop, so...). Maybe after I upgrade my spec or build a PC, I'll play in EU servers :p But thanks for your offer tho.

Anyway, thanks for all of your feedback and suggestions guys!

Most likely... NOT! When you reach 50 your equipment (and gems) will be waaaay crappier than that of the other players, and it will probably take months/years to get good enough equipment so that at least you won't get killed with 2 hits.
You have a better chance in PvP under lvl 45, unless you have the "luck" to play against a twink(le, twinkle little star).
