Feedback Winter Solstice Festival 2015

I wonder when and why DSO h&s game become a platfomer game, action game with do something in short period of time like was in old games from Sega or Snes or in saloon with machines for play...
What next? FPS? Strategy? Or something like game with play a music and choose fast a right color, letter, guitar accord?
Learn from Korean if you don't know how use and dev type of game like DSO which is only a copy - worse and worse after every patch - of very good known game from western producers.
From mmo I expect cooperative with players, play even an hour at map but calm with brain and joy, not in stress like rat in maze and in race with time...
In time of Christmas when we should spend a lot of time with family and in game only for some joy you put event and minievents which are sick, for people intoxicated by game, "must do it". 9 hours for very hard and intensive play for minievent it is not good. 9 hours - it is cost of 9 hours of work, life, sleep of weekend and normal day.
More hours in three days is normal, right? Ok, but what for? Why not 5 days for 2-3 hours by day calm and nice play with friends? Because money? Or rewards? Big joke, nobody normal without hazard problem will pay for progress of this mini about 2500 euro... It is a pity that you try manipulate people like this in game. Premium account? Ok, a lot of those poor guys will buy it for event and this is enough for your company. Try suck money from players smarter in longer time of game for need and smart things in it, more economic than shooort and not fun mini.
Yes this mini is possible to do but only in two ways - sick (cost of life time and money which should be spend better and smarter) or with... tricks.
No by normal, not zombi mode way of play with random players.

 

Oh what fun we have!
I had over 800 green presents to open and sell. I started clicking as fast as possible. It didn't take too long, before the server was overloaded and my graphics locked up for a couple seconds per click. Then the data stream backed up, and it took about 3 seconds for each click to register. Internet speed was fine. Computer speed was fine, no overload.
I can only image how much fun it will be at the end of the event, when more players empty their inventories.

Same for me...these challenges are always "farm your life off"...I did it for viscanium, I did it for Dragan...with increasing real life wasted away (and my wife complaining...when will she start menacing divorce?). Now it is simply impossible.
If this is the respect for the players, I just give up.
I'm curious to see what's inside this 1500 coins box, but I just wanted the unique stones. And for the math that Baragain did, for me
- it's impossible to skip the hard map either solo or in two
- i spent approx 1h per run, and I consider myself an above average toon (maybe I'm a bit overestimating myself... )

All in all, the event was fine, I mean...the main event. The minis would have been challenges if they were doable, but designers keep on thinking that the "challenge" means the amount of hours of gameplay...fine. Until we start mass leaving the game.

You know what? the only way I could progress was to team with some premium (I'm a free player) that kept on dying like flies until they could successfully clear the hard map. Good eh?

To me, the problem is not the mini map, it is the hard map. It is just too much.

Had the same prob, decided to clear 1200ish greens and 800ish blues. I was saving them till i figured out what was going on with the coins, and they started to double stack since they only stack to 999. Anyway, soon as it started to lag, id recall to the city and clear that dam slow "here's what you got" notification that is in the top middle of the screen. This made it smooth for another couple o' hundred. Rinse, repeat.

 

Does anyone know if the presents level to the level you are when you open them or the level you were when you received them? I'm hoping they are like cubes in that respect.

it's true bro, if you want to finish event fast, there's no other ways other than blue essence, strong dmg and HP, and of course speedy boot

 

As all DSO develops , there is always a lot of hatings. Nobody need to be the stronger to finish any event! Strategy and a group of 4/5 fits well and help u go to the end of all events easy.
If 9 hours playing is considered sick (i think i am lol) , why dont think 3 hours in 3 days? So everybody will finish the minis!!!

I have the privilege and luck to have good team working , after our first run we always buid the best strategy to manage events and minis and we get them done quick and in less than 9 hours. I finished main event in second day and mini in first day. why ? Because of strategy ! Not sickness or money or whatever.

If u know an event its comming :
1 - farm essences ( blues gives a big boost)
2- be prepared for all situations ( carry defense items), I see a lot of peeps dying like crazy in places they already know they will die. They still carry no defenses , thinking just dmg will save them
3 - find a fast boot
4 - Learn to manage ur wisdom skills depending on the place and the team , some groups are really fast, some places will need more hp/blocks than dmg or crits atributes
5 - learn to add up health pots on ur tab skills for urgent situations

with this tips and a group at the same lvl u are u can go far everywhere , be happy with ur results and come here (on the forum) to say this event is awesome and I got the gems lol

They should be your current level when you open them. They are just placeholders until then.

 

I was soloing. I am just very fast, I guess. I bypassed most of the mobs and only went for the goal.

The first mini was impossible to finish unless you did it non-stop, the second mini you can not use your premium, which seems to be happening more frequently, so whats the point, and I died in the entrance did not move from the point I entered and the blue bar filled up and killed me......Awesome Christmas event

 

pls BP increase the purple present drop rate to let everyone know whats inside the box..i think its impossible to finish this event to normal player having other work or lifestyle.we cant afford to play too long in whole..be enjoyable BP your game.

 

You're doing it wrong. Best way to get the big present in the box is to kill kranparus as much as possible in mini 2 and mini 3, as he drops 5 coins in mini 2 and should drop more in mini 3.

 

It will be 10 in mini #3. I'm planning on running that mini event like a madman to get the coins I need. I saw a leaked image with what the rewards might/should be and it has me sufficiently motivated.

Anyone else missing the Crystal Snowflake and Achievement #1 from the first Mini Event? I got an achievement for completing all 3 mini events instead, and now the Crystal Snowflake is gone!
The case of the Winter Jewel Thief, maybe bad Gnob is back.

12/20 Update: The Snowflake turned up in a spare cloak. I must have hidden it from myself. Support found it on my second inquiry.

As to the achievements, that's still messy.
Drops are feast or famine, mostly famine.

Took me quite a while to figure out how to post a pic...
(For people not reading german, I can reveal its the 3 jestergems, 3 golden clovers, 1000 drakens, 5000 ander and 3 legs!)

 

BP, developers, bosses managers whoever, these events are killing us. Sure the rewards are great there is no complaints there i doubt from anyone! but you have to be kidding these mini event are ridiculous this morning i played 6 or 7 hours without stopping and only upto 1000/2700. Mind you i have spent the better part of 1500 anderment as well. at this rate its looking at 21 hours to complete this mini event, one thing the developers dont know or choose not to notice is days 2 and 3 the number of people doing the event is minimal at least on tegan server. My guild has 45 people and only 20 are doing the event this tells you something. It is not enjoyable event are suppose to make people want to play but to do the same thing tme and time again costing huge amount of ander for revive is not fun. TO make people want to play things need to be more balanced for example in hard map the bullet bridge dishes out 6k damage i have been playing for 3 years and login almost ever day yet i only have 5.2K HP as a SW. PS i am using a shield too. You must consider the health of your players while there are so crazy people whp play 12 hours a day most cannot as they have families work or other responsibilities. As a gaming company to entice lower level players to play so long for the Great rewards is just not healthy you even published a questionaire a year back or so about this moderate the game to the norm and not to the elite so everyone can have fun

U are right! The minievent is not Xmasy in any way! The first minievent could be bugged, but this 1 cant! Still... there are ways to get around some of the idiotic timeconsuming way this event has been created...

I reccomend U play in small groups of 2-3 people who can ressurect eachother, to save ander!
And the way to get around going through 2/3rds of the hardmap is to place a toon in that map to make sure the mobs in there dont respawn... that way U only have to run through the Hard Winter Summit Map, without a fight there!
