    I really don't know whether I should create this thread or not. I am really confused on the damage calculation of my RA, my base damage is 805-885 and my hunting arrow hits only 260 or higher. As it said, it should hit 60% of the base damage as physical damage but I don't think its 60% or higher. Please help me clear this confusion.
    Thank You

    What your hitting has armor. It's armor value makes it % damage reduction to your attacks. Get a Mech or DK to break it's armor and see how much nicer your damage is.

    There is a good explanation of general damage calculations here although the basics of armor reduction is not covered.

    damage calculation above is so confusing for me. it says hunting arrow skills of RA shoot an arrow causing 60% damage as physical damage to the enemy but i got base damage of 805-885 and only hits 270 or higher without any armor reduction. my question is straight, it it says, it cause 60% damage as physical damage of base damage then why not hit. I have Sspellwever of same level having 450-515 base damage but it hits same as my RA (270 or higher).

    If you look at your own armor you will see that it reduces damage by a percentage. So if someone with 100 damage hits you and your armor reduces damage by 40% then you will take 60 damage. The same thing is happening when your hunting arrow hits a mob. They wear armor too and some have reductions up to 80%. A SW uses attacks that have elemental damage like fire and lightning. Their attacks are reduced much less by armor and moreso by resistance. Look at your own Resistance as an example. It is one of the benefits of SW damage as resistances are much less on mobs and harder for characters to obtain for PVP fights.

    Your damage looks like this. Lets use a middle number in your damage 845.

    845 x 60% = 507 damage for arrow

    270 is about 53% of 507 so the target has 47% damage reduction from armor.

    This would be against a target of the same level as you. If you fight mobs that are higher level, there is also an additional deduction in damage you give them, and an increase in damage they give you. But that's a different topic.

    @BigPapa

    Awesome and thankx.

    @Dewesh

    Hunting arrows does 60% base damage like Papa said that brings you to 483 - 531. Now that puts you really close to the spellweaver damage. Also if you put hunting arrow in either mouse button slots you should see the damage for that skill can do the same for spellweaver. Remember each class has plus and minuses. Rangers can have their 2H counter part and shield or quiver but then again. As bigpapa said for another topic.

    Can you do the math for color dragonspawn? I have 54,41% armor, 51,51% block rate and 60,84% block amount and still it take 1600-2000 HP with one hit.

    For unblocked damage:
    Median damage is 1800
    Actual damage percent is 1-.5441=.4559

    1800/.4559 = 3948

    For blocked attacks
    1800 - 1800(.6084) = 705

    The four little draganspawns that pop up after you kill it are elemental damage.

    Do you happen to know the math behind elemental damage vs. armor and resistance?
    i.e. 100 damage with fire against 50% armor and 30% fire resistance.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks.... so 4k dmg from a little fast thing with 30-35k of HP. And best of all is thats causes lag so you cant react :).

    I did a quick test myself. Seems armor has no(!!) effect on elemental dmg at all. Same as resistance has no effect on physical dmg.
