    Hello,

Can anyone please tell me how much Internet data is used if I play the game for... lets say.. 2 hours? I tried to search for this info and couldnt find it. If there's some way to track this through my OS (Mac OS X), that'd be helpful as well. I'm new to online RPG gaming. So, any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your answers!

    Cheers!

The data usage is very Le if your in an urban city or a wilderness or private dungeon. The low side would be roughly .2 MBPS High is harder to judge I have seen lag with 5 MBPS but don't know if the lag was due to my end or something else.

I don't think he was asking about the bandwidth.

You want to control the spending of your resources ... right?
If so ... there is no fixed measurement. Everything is depending on what you are doing and how frequently. For a start your PC will download all necessary files at particular map. If you change maps same goes for the other maps. Even if you have all possible files ... your client(PC) must communicate with the server. Every single pressing on a key needs to be passed to the server and then get response to client so you can see the outcome. It is not like you have downloaded a movie clip so you can watch it later without spending more resources ... here every single action counts. If you are using chat that is counting too ... or if other players around are using chat ... they are wasting your resources too.
There are a lot of tools and apps for Windows ... which can keep you informed about connection resources spending ... I don't know for OS X ... but I guess there must be similar apps.
Also you can track the spending by checking your router. Some routers have handy apps and gadgets.

If you have everything prloaded, you will just have the back an forth communication which is really low. I have preloaded stuff on my home network and then played the game off of my phone's connection for about 50 MB of data for about an hour of play. I hope that helps.

Thanks a lot guys.. :) @trakilaki yes, you are correct. I'm looking to understand data usage. My query was mainly due to the fact that the original download was only 40 MB.. so I'm just curious to find out how much data transaction or download happens while playing the game. I've also just discovered a tool called Rubbernet for Mac OS X which helps track network data usage for all apps on the Mac. I'll monitor the data usage through that to get more details and to be sure about the usage. As @_Baragain_ calls out.. if its just 50 MB, that would be perfect for me :)

Sadly, my ISP has an FUP restriction on me.. while its not too harsh, there have been situations where I've exceeded it. So, just being prepared!

Again, thank you very much for your answers! Cheers and happy holidays!!

This happened to me. I lost all of my allowed data without knowing. *sigh
